FULL VS LIMITED REGISTRATION
All puppies will come with AKC registration. There are two different types of AKC registration.
Limited Registration: which is a "pet" AKC registration; this means that the puppy cannot be bred or shown.
Or a Full AKC Registration which allows the puppy to bred or shown when they are of age.
HEALTH GUARANTEE
While we do everything possible to ensure your puppy is healthy, no one can 100% guarantee their health. DNA and Orthopedic Foundation Association (OFA) tests have been done on the parents, along with heart and eye conformation tests. Each puppy will see the vet for their first shots, and we do a routine worming schedule at 2,4,6, and 8 weeks (if we still have them). EACH PUPPY WILL HAVE A MICROCHIP AND SHOT RECORD and HEALTH CERTIFICATE provided by our veterinarian.
WHATS THE NEXT STEP IN RESERVING A PUPPY?
Contact us via email, text, or use the contact page for this site. We would love to know more about you and the home you could provide one of our puppies. Feel free to ask us any questions as well. A deposit is required to hold a puppy for you, your deposit holds your place for the pick for the pups. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NONREFUNDABLE BUT ARE TRANSFERABLE TO ANOTHER LITTER WITH US. PLEASE REMEMBER A PUPPY IS A BIG RESPONSIBILITY. IT IS A LIVING BREATHING ANIMAL THAT WILL BE A LIFELONG COMMITMENT. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DO THAT THEN DON’T PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN.

WHEN DO I GET TO PICK MY PUPPY?
Picks are typically made at 6 weeks of age. To make the selection process easier for everyone, we allow people to come and view our puppies through a window, Facetime, or by pictures first. We do not allow ANYONE outside our family to touch any puppy or any of our dogs so we can protect them from getting sick as so many diseases like Kennel Cough, Parvo, Distemper, Corona Virus other contagious disease can and are transmitted on clothing, hands, and the ground via soles of shoes etc. You may believe this to be extreme, but we take the health of our litter seriously and want you and everyone else to receive a happy, healthy puppy. We ask you to choose 2 in case your first choice is taken. Please let me know your choice so I can write it down.
DO YOU OFFER SHIPPING?
Due to the weather variations throughout the year we have found it safer for the puppies that need to fly if they are carried on the plane. If you wish to go that route, you will purchase a ticket for yourself and then add on the puppy ticket which most airlines do charge for. This will work if the puppy is picked up right at 8 weeks. After that, it’s grown too large to fit under the seat in front of you and other options will need to be considered.
We DO NOT ship puppies alone. There are people that will fly your puppy to you or drive it. Feel free to ask if you’d like more information.
WHAT KIND OF DOG FOOD SHOULD I FEED MY PUPPY?
Golden Retrievers, in my opinion, should NEVER be fed Grain-free commercial dog food. Recent studies have shown a link between grain free dog food and Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM). DCM can cause heart failure and death.
Golden Retrievers need a good quality large breed puppy food for proper growth. Dog Food Advisor does a great job of rating dog foods: https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com You can type in the dog food you are interested in to see its current score.
The food brand I feed is Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy Formula It can be found at Rural King Supply and at Tractor Supply and is rated at 4 ½ stars. It is safe for adult dogs as well.
ICT and GOLDEN RETRIEVERS Our dogs DO NOT HAVE THIS OR CARRY THIS.
what is ICT?
Ichthyosis (ICT) results in a profusion of dandruff. ICT is generally not dangerous to a dog's health but can be unsightly and uncomfortable for the dog. ICT is frequently related to other health issues such as yeast overgrowth and fungal infections. A dog with ICT will usually require more care with special shampoos and treatments.
WHAT IS ICT CLEAR AND CARRIER MEAN?
Ichthyosis in Dogs
Ichthyosis is an autosomal recessive genetic mutation that affects the skin of Golden Retrievers. Autosomal recessive genetic mutations are mutations that can be passed from either parent or require two copies of the gene to show symptoms. The mutation prevents the outer layer of the epidermis from forming properly, resulting in skin that becomes darkened and thick with excessive flaking.
The name "Ichthyosis" is derived from the Greek word for fish. This describes the skin's resemblance to fish scales. The most common symptom of ICH-A is excessive flaking of the skin. Other symptoms include areas of hardened skin and hyperpigmentation, which may make the skin appear dirty or blackened. Symptoms can be mild or severe. Evidence of the disease may be detected when the dog is still a puppy, but symptoms may take a year or more to develop. Additionally, symptoms can improve or worsen, depending on stress and hormonal cycles. Ichthyosis is generally not dangerous to a dog's health but can be unsightly and uncomfortable for the dog. ICH-A is frequently related to other health issues such as yeast overgrowth and fungal infections. A dog diagnosed with ICH-A will usually require more care with special shampoos and treatments.
ICH-A is unfortunately quite common in Golden Retrievers but can be identified with a simple DNA test. A dog with ICH-A would need to inherit the mutation from both parents, as the mutation is autosomal recessive. Because ICH is a recessive disorder, a dog must have two copies of the mutation for the disease to manifest. This means that a dog can have one copy of the mutation and not experience any signs or symptoms of ICH. This dog would be known as a carrier. The carrier can then pass on either the normal gene or the mutated gene to any offspring. If two carriers are bred, there is a 25% chance that they will develop symptoms of ICH.
How is ichthyosis diagnosed?
Your veterinarian may suspect ichthyosis in your dog based on clinical signs and the diagnosis is confirmed by performing a skin biopsy. Genetic testing is available to test for the mutation responsible for this condition.
What is the prognosis?
"Ichthyosis is chronic and there is no cure."
Ichthyosis is chronic and there is no cure. Once a dog is diagnosed with ichthyosis, the symptoms may be controlled with frequently applied medicated shampoos and rinses to control the itching and to maintain both skin hydration and skin barrier function. The disease worsens with age and some dogs are more severely affected than others. Unfortunately, severely affected dogs may ultimately be euthanized due to their disease. Affected dogs, their parents, and their siblings should not be used for breeding.
ICT is an autosomal recessive genetic mutation that affects the skin of many dogs and Golden Retrievers are one of the breeds it affects. Therefore, to pass ICT to any offspring, both parents must carry a copy of the mutation. An "affected" dog has two copies of the gene and therefore has the disease. A "carrier" has one copy of the genetic mutation and will not have the disease but could pass it on if bred with another carrier or and affected dog. An ICT "clear" dog does not have the genetic mutation anywhere in their DNA and therefore cannot pass it on. Since having an affected dog requires getting an ICT gene from each parent, an ICT clear dog can be bred with either a carrier or an affected dog and no offspring will have the disease. Many Golden Retrievers are carriers of the gene responsible for the disease, about 50%. An estimated 30% are affected, and the remaining 20% are clear. A reliable DNA test can screen stud dogs and brood bitches to adapt mating’s and avoid birth of affected puppies and spread of the disease in the breed.
We have spent a lot of time researching GENETIC LINES and DNA sequencing. Our dogs DO NOT CARRY THIS.
We have tested all our breeding dogs to make sure this disease is not passed on. All our English Goldens are ICT clear, which of course means all our puppies are ICT clear as well. It is very hard to find a breeder with all ICT clear dogs. Some breeders will breed dogs without knowing the carrier status because only one parent may carry it, passing on the gene to future dogs.
